It's Maggie Adler's. Lady owned part of the island. She was the only one who actually lived out here - everyone else just came by ferry for day visits.
We basically stranded ourselves, if you look at it like that. There's this yearly party on the beach, so we took the last ferry. We were gonna stay the night and catch the first ferry in the morning home.
Which still happened. Just with a lot of ghosts in between.
[ for now the caves are dark and cold and a bit winding. there's some minor climbing to be done, but i'm sure both of them can handle it while they go deeper... ]
[ Vash whistles... Amazed that ghosts could haunt so much that Alex has to say A LOT, but he's from a canon where his mangaka makes things happen because they want to.
Vash will help her up if she ever needs it, but he's rather good at parkour. ]
This kinda explains why Jonas looked a little unsettled when I tried to tell him a ghost story.
[ she is a little bit mean so she does snort a small laugh at that. ]
Yeah, uh... It's a little fresh for both of us.
[ and yet further in they go. they will have to crawl into an opening that has some graffiti scrawled over it reading: see a man about a dog. then the cave opens up to a cavern with... some kinda crystals on the wall? a floating triangle way up high? an intercom?? AN ARMOIRE???? and on the far wall, big red graffiti that says: saw the man but not the dog.

[ BUT FINE she reaches up to fiddle with the headset and hijack the simulation. let's go to the beach at night?! ]

This is the ocean?
no subject
Yeah. I'm from a coastal town, but this is a beach on a little island off the shore.
[ up those stairs is a huge gated mansion. and beyond the fence, the entrance to a cave, with three piles of stacked rocks sitting in front of it. ]

Nnnnnnno. My family's not that rich.

[ But oh. Hm. He takes a look around. Is this beach spooky at night. ]
That sounds kind of lonely if it's just her here.
no subject
[ why is that a question. as for the beach, it is up to you do decide if you feel it is spooky... it is just a beach... who's to say... ]
Nah, people come here like every day. There's shops back in town and everything. Also she's dead anyway.

Oh... Rest in peace, Maggie Adler. May your relatives if you have any appreciate your mansion.
[ He literally makes the sign of the cross, but... Hm. Vash does not find it creepy, no. Eventually his eyes land on the cave. ]
Spelunking?
no subject
[ huh. ]
Uhhh. I mean, if you want to. I guess it's just a simulation, so it's not like it can hurt.
no subject
[ A WASTE. ]
It's not scary, right?
no subject
[ ok ]
It won't be in VR? The real one is, like, haunted. But it should be fine. [ probably.....??? ]
no subject
[ you know what okay vash doesn't think that's too weird i still do not know what oxenfree is about so this is fine ]
Virtual Reality can't hurt us!
[ In VR Vash thinks he still has his phone, so he will use his phone flashlight to check the inside of the cave. Time to go. ]
I'm also used to haunted.
[ Says the dude who has almost glowing blue eyes in the dark. They're normal, but his eyes are so blue. ]

[ just admitting to trying to steal a boat. don't worry about it. but off they go into the cave. ]
Oh yeah? You've dealt with ghosts before?
no subject
[ What. Also cave time... Vash seems to be fine to be in dark places and will make sure he's in the front. ]
... Just once.

welcome to the cave. it's a dead end. ]
no subject
[ A little laugh, not the mean one here. ]
Well, this is ominous. No dog?
[ Then up at the triangle. Is it just... A floating geometric shape that simply exists? This has him blinking. ]
no subject
[ yeah the triangle is just. made of light? it's just up there. ]
Yeah, I still have no idea what that means.
