[another laugh - ] Ah, I'm not offended. I know that objects and blades feel pretty...
[he looks for the word]
Humans don't think too much about them, right? Not until they become significant in some way. But to answer your question, it's normally once an object gets to be around a hundred years or so, or if someone loves it an awful lot. For me, it was the former.
I know what you mean. Even things we try to remember can get—forgotten about or obscured. Or... misremembered? And, like, that's the things we want to remember.
Right. It's to the point that even some of my comrades end up asking big questions like 'What is history?'
I'm not sure if I'm smart enough for questions like that... but I do know that sometimes all you can do is remember the people close to you, and honor them. But maybe that's too simple of a way of thinking...
Right! The things you care about, the people that you love, the memories that you want to keep... I think all of that matters. People's lives are really vivid, and you'd be surprised what remains of what you leave behind.
At the very least, if we all get out of here like I hope we do, I'll remember you all wherever I go.

[buzen inexplicably able to drive literally anything is canon,]
Have you ever been out on the water?
no subject
[ who lets swords steer ships? ]
But—yeah. There's a little tourist island off the coast that you have to take a ferry to. We used to go all the time.

[so he's here to help keep everybody young!! :) ]
Oohh, who's 'we'?
no subject
[ wow anyway!!! ]
But what about, like, heart attacks? That's a surprise that goes straight to the heart.
no subject
... do you mean - stabbed in the heart?
[buzen doesn't understand cardiovascular disease]
no subject
Nnnno, like... When your heart overloads? And malfunctions? Wait, do I even know how heart attacks work?
no subject
It can do that?!
no subject
Man, I really don't know enough about this.

laughs faintly]
Being a human seems complicated.
no subject
[ debatable. ]
no subject
[but he did die so]
no subject
Wait, only a couple for you? I figured it would be longer since—like, sword history or something.

My awareness is pretty old - hundreds of years. But I was a blade for most of it. Aruji only summoned us in these bodies pretty recently.

Yeah, I guess there are probably... a lot of swords that don't have names or anything, huh? I never thought about it.
no subject
Most of them don't. Fuku-sensei actually only just named his since he got here, but I'm happy he even tried.
There's more swords that have been lost to history than those that are remembered but... that goes for a lot of things.

Even if people wind up being wrong about the details, I think the intention still matters.

Aww. Well, I'll remember you, too.
