After talking to all three of them? No, yeah, Aika makes the most sense. I'm still not sure how long they've been working together. They haven't really said.

Yeah, okay. There's people I've seen around my whole life, too, without talking to them. I asked Kiichi about if they could switch departments and he just told me that since the games vary, they could get tapped to do stuff they don't want to do at any point.

...call me crazy, but hear me out a little. What do you think the chances are that the reapers are playing their own game alongside us? This is the Reaper's Game, isn't it? I was talking to Matsui and he was telling me about how the reapers couldn't quite agree on some stuff. Like what actually happens to souls and everything.

I asked Aika if she'd ever played this game. She said "not this one", but didn't want to tell me about it. Said it wasn't relevant. So maybe the one she played before isn't relevant to ours, but...I don't know. Do you get what I'm trying to say? Like doing this job is one of their missions for a different game.

[ oh boy another conspiracy theory. but who knows, this time it's not about something alex kind of knows stuff about, so... ]

I... Maybe? Or if they're playing a different game, we could still be a part of it, somehow. It's not like we know for sure they're telling us the truth.

Like maybe they're betting on certain teams or players or something.

Yeah, there's that, too. There's enough of us that they could each pick a few teams and see who pulls ahead. They set up our missions and they can watch them from wherever, so it's not like they won't know how we're doing.

...I'm not sure they're necessarily lying to us. But I do think there's a lot we don't know about the truth.

I didn't really get the impression they were lying, either. But it's still a possibility, I guess. And - yeah, there's at least stuff we don't know.

No, I don't really either. [ he's trying to decide how he feels about them, but it's tentative friendliness for the moment. ] But it'd be nice to know if any of them did believe in us or whatever. Probably hard to tell when it's only been a few days.

I hope they play favorites, but only if we're the favorites.
