So how does the loop start over if you're in cold sleep? Does the key thing... just activate on its own at a certain point, or what? Is it a certain amount of time?

It does, I go through the whole process of cold sleep.. but I always wake up again not long after in a new loop. When a loop reaches a conclusion of sorts, whether it's a win, cold sleep, erasure, or even the universe just coming to an end.. it normally starts into a new loop.
Since we're in the lower deck, I think we should be able to reach the other rooms down here. There's Hangar, Power Room, Water Control room... but we can check out the EVA room first.
[ come, come... fortunately they come to the next room not long after, there's a door far off in the back. the window beside that door shows more of the space outside. ] This room is meant for extra-vehicular activities preparations.
[ gestures to the capsule. ] We depressurize and equip spacesuits inside this capsule and go through the airlock there if we need to manage any check-ups on the ships from outside.
You don't think it would be a bit scary? If something were to go wrong, you'd drift off into space.
[ but assuming Alex doesn't want to explore too heavily, they will continue on to another room on the lower deck. this time, the room looks like this. it's a cargo room holding large freight with a bunch of large crates. ]
Only two people will ever come down to the hangar, one of them being the captain. Lot of the crates just hold materials, like food and plants. [ their gaze is more focused towards the back of the hangar. ]
[ yeah she's not looking super closely at things. peering around each area, taking them in, but she doesn't think inspecting all this... metal... will net her any interesting insight.
buuuut she does look where setsu is looking, then give them a curious look? hm hm??? ]
[it's said with quiet amusement, sometimes better to focus on the more exciting aspects of things. they will meet Alex's curious look, offer a little smile, before they continue on.]
...I was thinking of a loop where I had to spend a few nights trying to figure out what was hidden in the back of the Hangar. It was a bit difficult.. because not only did I need to make sure I survived, but my friend as well, along with the captain of the ship.
[ it's actually pretty hard to ensure three specific people stayed alive long enough to figure out hard-to-get information. but they will continue moving! this time, the new room is quite noisy. a large power reactor in the center of the room hums loudly. there also seems to be another door in the back of the room. ] Power room, pretty straightforward, hehe.
Well, it depends. You can offer to collaborate with someone- which can help when you start to doubt someone, or even you start to get doubted yourself. [ they're there to support you ] But.. I don't often agree to collaborate right away. Not when I'm still trying to figure out who can be trusted and not.

[ onto the next room... they'll come across this. which, right away, there is an immediate large tank of water to the right. for a brief moment there looks to be synthetic fish inside swimming...? but a glitch happens, and suddenly it's empty. weird. ]
..This is the Water Control room. Pretty straightforward, it's where the recycling of water is controlled. It's also the place where I went fishing for the first time... [ a bit wistfully ] It was pretty fun.
Oh, it might be because in one of my loops we ended up releasing synthetic fish into the tank so we could fish... Normally though they don't have any in them.
[ a pause. ] Otome will sleep in the tank, if she's around on the loops.
..It was my friend that was going through their own set of loops. They wanted us to have fun for a change, to forget about the Gnosia. [ they say this fondly. ] I knew they were doing it as a means to cheer me up.
Just giving us a moment to forget about it for one loop. [ yeah... it was fun. ] Ah, of course, because we skipped out on the meeting, everyone else came to the decision of sending the both of us to cold sleep.
[ RIP. but Setsu doesn't seem or sound mad by that decision. it's fair actually? they weren't involved so that can be seen as suspicious ] That was fine. We got to have some fun, even if was shortlived.
