I don't know about A-grade trivia... I'm sure the captain himself would be able to provide more than I could. But I'll try my best, given I'm the only one here.
[ which is said with amusement, watching as Alex peers around. ]
That's right, given it's the main console room. [ as to why they come here, they look around. ] Hmm, all ship info is consolidated here.
[ is that it... ] I guess, it's the room I'm often in the most so. It's just become one of those areas I naturally visit.
I understand. [ with a bit of amusement, before they shake their head ]
If it isn't the captain it's the ship's AI "LeVi" who is in charge of flying the ship. Though there's no overriding the AI's directory when we're under Gnosia lockdown, unfortunately.
It would be easier if it worked that way. Instead, per Gnosia protocol, it allows us the opportunity to find out who the infectee is. If not, it will enter the cruise into self-destruction to risk any chance of the Gnosia spreading elsewhere in the universe.
[ aka find who is infected or risk the ship exploding itself and killing everyone on it. very fun. ]
Gnosia can't hold themselves back from eliminating humans, so they would just pick everyone off one by one. Even if we came to the decision of cold sleeping everybody... again, we aren't aware of how the infection spreads. The risk is just too high.
[ AI really said your only choices are 1) find gnosia or 2) perish. ]
Basically. [ and what's a better time for the vr system to act a bit out? the scene glitches for a split second, before a new location loads in.
it's a rather gloomy, and bit dark room, most of the glow coming from the data lining on nearby screens and some of the pods lining the walls. it really is a somewhat creepy atmosphere. there's the distant hum and sound of machinery in the background. Setsu themselves look briefly surprised before recognition shows. ]
Ah, it's the Cold Sleep room... this is on the lower deck of the ship, where most of the ship's functions are controlled, filled with machinery and cargo. [ hmmm weird ] I didn't mean for it to change but I suppose it may have been because of my thoughts on cold sleep..?
[ a nod, coming over to approach the lines of pods. they're used to coming down here so it doesn't really unnerve them. ]
Similarly. Of course, the people put in here are still alive... just frozen.
[ hence 'cold sleep.' and since mods said we technically can have simulated people in here that just don't move, yeah we'll see one of the lit-up pods does show someone apparently resting inside it. they can be seen through the small window! creepy! ]
...I've lost count of how many times I've been sent to cold sleep. [ they continue to stare a bit longer into the pod before they shake their head, moving over to inspect the data. is it simulating the cold room from a certain loop...? they can't help but be curious. ]
[ alex is definitely. distracted staring at the vague figure of someone in there. hmmmm bad. ]
So how does the loop start over if you're in cold sleep? Does the key thing... just activate on its own at a certain point, or what? Is it a certain amount of time?
[ much bad... i could potentially pick someone if Alex is giving a close look. they are just mimir sneep sneep zzz though. ]
It does, I go through the whole process of cold sleep.. but I always wake up again not long after in a new loop. When a loop reaches a conclusion of sorts, whether it's a win, cold sleep, erasure, or even the universe just coming to an end.. it normally starts into a new loop.
Since we're in the lower deck, I think we should be able to reach the other rooms down here. There's Hangar, Power Room, Water Control room... but we can check out the EVA room first.
[ come, come... fortunately they come to the next room not long after, there's a door far off in the back. the window beside that door shows more of the space outside. ] This room is meant for extra-vehicular activities preparations.
[ gestures to the capsule. ] We depressurize and equip spacesuits inside this capsule and go through the airlock there if we need to manage any check-ups on the ships from outside.
You don't think it would be a bit scary? If something were to go wrong, you'd drift off into space.
[ but assuming Alex doesn't want to explore too heavily, they will continue on to another room on the lower deck. this time, the room looks like this. it's a cargo room holding large freight with a bunch of large crates. ]
Only two people will ever come down to the hangar, one of them being the captain. Lot of the crates just hold materials, like food and plants. [ their gaze is more focused towards the back of the hangar. ]
[ yeah she's not looking super closely at things. peering around each area, taking them in, but she doesn't think inspecting all this... metal... will net her any interesting insight.
buuuut she does look where setsu is looking, then give them a curious look? hm hm??? ]
[it's said with quiet amusement, sometimes better to focus on the more exciting aspects of things. they will meet Alex's curious look, offer a little smile, before they continue on.]
...I was thinking of a loop where I had to spend a few nights trying to figure out what was hidden in the back of the Hangar. It was a bit difficult.. because not only did I need to make sure I survived, but my friend as well, along with the captain of the ship.
[ it's actually pretty hard to ensure three specific people stayed alive long enough to figure out hard-to-get information. but they will continue moving! this time, the new room is quite noisy. a large power reactor in the center of the room hums loudly. there also seems to be another door in the back of the room. ] Power room, pretty straightforward, hehe.

You ever get to fly the ship yourself?

A lot of the data can get contorted so it's left with us to figure it out.

[ HELLO, she didn't know that the ship fucking kills you all if you don't find the infected???? ]
Why not just—why not just keep you in quarantine or something? It'd be better than self-destruction!

It can't let it spread, so—it has to close the gate.

... Makes sense, though. I've heard there are morgues on most big ships, just in case.
[ well. regular ships and spaceships are probably very different, but. still? ]

Sure. What's next up?
